Process servers in Oklahoma are required to provide a surety bond to the Secretary of State. The surety bond, in the amount of $5,000, must also be submitted to the county at the time of application. This bond is valid for one year for a new license. If you renew your license, the bond is valid for three years. 

A process server must have an active bond at all times to remain licensed. The bond premium must be paid annually. We will assist you with the maintenance of your surety bond by contacting you prior to the renewal date each year with bond premium payment instructions.

Process servers in Oklahoma are licensed through the county where they will work. However, the requirements to be a process server are established by the state under Oklahoma Statutes Title 12. Civil Procedure §12-158.1. These requirements include: 
 

• Be 18 years of age or older;
• Be of good moral character;
• Be ethically and mentally fit;
• Be a resident of the State of Oklahoma for a period of not less than six months; and
• Be a resident of the county or judicial administrative district in which the application is submitted for a period of not less than 30 days
